PROJECT “EZKABA REFOREST´ACTION”

The 20th of September of 2022 there was a fire in Ezkaba.
Four schools worked together in this project to reforest Ezkaba.
The project´s name is “Ezkaba Reforest´action”.
It is a Service Learning Project for the community.
The schools are:
- CP Doña Mayor.
- CIP Agroforestal.
- CIP Donibane.
- CIP M.ª Ana Sanz.
WHICH TREES ARE THERE?
ALEPPO PINE: scientific name Pinus halepensis.
The Aleppo pine is an evergreen tree*.
The fruit of the Aleppo pine is the pinecone.
The maximum height of the Aleppo pine is 25 meters.
Interesting information
The Aleppo pine is:
- in the middle area of Navarre.
- in the south of Navarre.
- in the south part of Ezkaba.
Fruit: pinecone.
DOWNY OAK: scientific name Quercus humilis.
The Downy Oak is a deciduous tree*.
The fruit of the Downy Oak is the acorn.
The Downy Oak can be 25 meters high.
The Downy Oak can live 200 years.
Interesting information
The Downy Oak grows in the North area of Ezkaba.
It keeps the acorns when it has no leaves.
The Downy Oak drops the leaves after the winter.
Fruit: acron.
SAINT LUCIE CHERRY: scientific name Prunus mahaleb.
The Saint Lucie Cherry is a deciduous tree.
The fruit is the cherry.
It can grow 10 meters high
and live 100 years.
Interesting information
There is only one Saint Lucie Cherry tree in Ezkaba.
It is a very appreciated tree.
It has white flowers
and they are very beautiful.
Its fruits are delicious for birds.
Fruit: cherry.
